How we met: We studied in the same college and knew each other for 4 years before we started dating. But it was only after graduation that we met at a friend’s place and clicked somehow. After that meeting, we started chatting on Facebook and BBM, shifting to long conversations over the phone, and eventually Rishi asked me out. We dated for around 4 years, as it wasn’t love at first sight for us Wedding Planning: Wedding planning is not a easy task, as it requires a lot of time and patience. Everything was handled by my Chacha and Rishi’s parents, who knew all about our preferences. I was very particular about our entry for each function – I didn’t want to enter normally (walking), so we entered in a speed boat for the Pool Party; I entered in a palki for the Sangeet, which was carried by my brothers; we made a grand entry at the Reception on a rotating stage which displayed a RK banner, with stairs on both sides of the rotating stage.
We couldn’t have managed without the wedding planner, Jai Dewani, though – he did a great job and took care of every minute detail. Feelings on the Big Day: I was not at all nervous and was actually quite excited for all my functions. I remember my relatives commenting, “It doesn’t look like it’s her wedding It seems she has come for someone else’s wedding!” I wanted to enjoy each and every function to the fullest, and Rishi and I ensured that we have a blast – we were partying it up till the very end of all the functions. We strongly feel that this day will never come back, so it needs to be enjoyed to the fullest – after all, it is YOUR wedding! Wedding Shopping: I got all my outifts from Delhi. For the pool party, I opted for a Pista-Green Dress, with shades of Turquoise, as it was a day function. Since our wedding was in Kerala, I wanted my dress to blend in with the city’s natural beauty.
Sangeet – Pastel Peach Suit with diamonds work on it – one of my favourite outfits! Wedding – Traditional Red and Golden Lehenga Reception – I opted for a simple and elegant look – Blue Saree with diamond and pearl work Wedding Venues: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kochi in Kerala, India Advice for to-be-weds: Don’t panic, even if the worst happens, because sometimes it can turn into something great, and your friends and family will be so excited and happy for you that nothing else will matter!
